  • Please follow the following guidelines to keep your art in perfect condition:

    1. Do not place your artwork in direct sunlight to prevent discoloration by the suns UV rays. A nice location with indirect light or a daylight spot light is the best choice.

    2. Keep your work between 35 and 65% relative humidity. Particularly higher values over longer periods of time can harm the wood structure beyond repair. Follow the following practical guidelines:

    a. In practice do not place it directly above or underneath heat sources (radiators, chimneys or air-co) which can lead to very dry air.
    b. Keep your art away from humid areas like the bathroom or cellars.
    c. In case you live in a very humid place consider getting a de-humidifier. Besides being great for preserving your art, your own health will benefit considerably.

Advice for display

This work can be best admired from medium to close range on a wall space. For a feeling of the relative size; the grey frame in the image is the size of this work compared to our other sizes and a person. It looks best in a small to medium sized room. Alternatively combined with other works it will work well in a larger space. Consider to combine it with natural lighting, this ideally comes down to a spotlight with a colour temperature of 5000 - 5500 Kelvin, illuminating the work from above. It will present the natural wood colours and structure of the work at its best.

Reviews

Materials

The following materials are used in your artwork.

Image of the Sycamore (wood) we use in our art, maplab

Sycamore

Sycamore has an off-white to creamy hue and a very fine grain. The dense structure and high hardness make it ideal for cutting very intricate networks of roads. Its light-reflecting quality enhances the delicacy and brightness of our work. We source our Sycamore from European forests where it is sustainably harvested.

Sapele Mahogany

Sapele wood stands out with its captivating dark reddish-brown hue, complemented by a fine grain and alluring natural luster. Making it a top choice for crafting exquisite furniture and musical instruments. Its remarkable durability and stunning appearance draw parallels to Mahogany, yet unlike Mahogany Sapele is not an endangered species. We source our Sapele exclusively from environmentally responsible suppliers, ensuring it remains a non-endangered tropical hardwood.

Forest Green Embossed Paper

A slightly darker shade of green quite like matured leaves of a deciduous forest. The embossing pattern makes the light reflect at different angles, just like on an canopy or grassland.

Dark Blue-green Embossed Paper

This darker shade of blue-green is precisely the colour we were looking for in representing the bodies of water in our works. The embossed wave pattern makes the waters more dynamic and realistic. We find that an addition of dark green to the blue makes it combine fantastic with the browns of the wood and the greenery.
